Do not infer the opening
A tube thickness, latch and post can change the usable internal space. Do not subtract an invented tube width from an outside diameter. Ask the maker what dimension is being measured if fit depends on it.
Convert only the known measure
Divide millimeters by25.4 to obtain inches for the same stated measurement. Conversion preserves an unknown definition; it does not turn a nominal dimension into a personal fit guarantee.
A useful detail to retain
A14mm stated diameter converts to about0.551inches, while19mm converts to about0.748inches. These are the same dimensions in different units, not new measurements. Do not compare either with a total-drop dimension as if the field definitions matched, and do not use the result as a statement about an individual ear.
